Information for carers

A carer is a person of any age who provides physical care or emotional support to another person, due to frailty, physical or mental illness, addiction, or disability and isn't paid for that care or support.

Young carers are aged 18 and under who provide a caring role. Information on your rights as a young carer are detailed on the Children & Young People's Commissioner Scotland website

You may be a full-time carer or only take on a caring role during parental deployment; whatever the case there are people who can support you.
